1990
Elldex Packaging Ltd
was born.

Elldex was proudly one of New Zealand’s largest checkout and retail shopping bag producers
and importers.

1993
Elldex begins importing
from Asia.

Elldex formed strategic partnerships with Chinese and Malaysian manufacturers, enabling Australia and New Zealand's leading retail brands to access advanced technologies
and efficiencies

2001
Elldex opens their first
automated HD and LDPE
recycling plant in Auckland.

From the onset, these key pillars of eco-friendly, planet driven, sustainable base endure in Qualmac to this day.

2005
The Sale of Elldex to
Hellaby Holdings.

China Sourcing was born from 17 years of previous experience and partnerships with Elldex.

Kym McIntyre
CEO


 

Kym McIntyre has served as CEO of Qualmac for over 12 years, leading the company to become one of Australia’s most innovative and disruptive supermarket suppliers. His vision and drive have positioned Qualmac as a trusted partner to major retailers across the region. Prior to founding Qualmac, Kym spent five years in Singapore on a dedicated sabbatical, learning from the executive team of one of Asia’s most successful trading companies. This experience, combined with his extensive work across African, Asian, and Oceania markets, has equipped him with deep global insight and a unique approach to sourcing and supply chain strategy. Today, Kym leads a team of highly motivated professionals, hand-picked for their expertise and passion. Under his leadership, the Qualmac team continues to challenge the status quo, delivering quality, innovation, and speed to market for their retail partners.

Michael Xu
Commercial Manager
 

As Commercial Operations Manager, Michael oversees procurement, CSR initiatives, and sourcing team management at Qualmac. With over 15 years of managerial experience, he is a foundational member of our team. Michael is recognized across the industry for his ability to streamline purchasing processes and secure competitively priced goods. He excels in developing strategic sourcing solutions, managing factory operations, and implementing effective CSR strategies.

Grant McKee
Head of Sales
 

As Head of Sales, Grant directs all commercial and marketing operations at Qualmac. Possessing over two decades of senior-level expertise with international consumer goods companies, his primary focus is to lead our business expansion throughout Australia and internationally. Before joining Qualmac, Grant amassed a comprehensive professional history in senior positions at Amazon, Mars, and Ferrero. Most recently, he contributed to the development of commercial strategies for global organizations as a senior consultant with The Gap Partnership. He is highly regarded within the consumer goods sector for his long-standing partnerships and a history of transforming retail categories to accelerate growth.

Iru Xu
Financial Analyst

Iru Xu is a Financial Analyst at Qualmac with strong experience in accounting, financial operations, and financial reporting across multinational corporations and fast-growing Australian businesses. She holds a Master’s in Management (Accounting) and is a Provisional Member of CA ANZ, currently working toward full Chartered Accountant accreditation. Before joining Qualmac, Iru held finance roles at Allegion, Next Level Racing, Australian Venue Co., and KWG Tax & Accounting, where she managed customer accounts, international payments, GST lodgments, forecasting, and financial reporting using ERP platforms such as Movex and Pronto, as well as accounting software including MYOB and Xero. Her broad background has built her reputation for technical strength, analytical thinking, and reliability—supporting Qualmac’s financial strategy and ongoing growth.

Pipat Samapuak
FMCG Growth Strategist

Pipat began his career as an Export Sales Executive at Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, one of Thailand’s largest conglomerates. With a strong background in international sales and marketing, he managed the dry foods category for key markets including China, Taiwan, and Oceania. Pipat has overseen a portfolio of over 100 partners across import, wholesale, retail, and modern trade, generating USD 35 million annually through seven major global rice brand partnerships. Known for pioneering new product development in Asian foods and snacks, he now applies his expertise to Australian and New Zealand retailers, focusing on driving growth through innovative, healthy food solutions.

Sissi Rong
Key Account Assistant

Sissi is an executive assistant with over ten years of experience in operational and sales support for senior management. She holds a master’s degree from Griffith University and began her career as a Business Analyst at GE in Shanghai. Sissi also served as a Sales Manager at Dalian Wanda Group, where she supported Australia’s largest apartment project, the Jewel project. At Qualmac, she collaborates with Kym and Michael in procurement and client relations, leveraging her strong communication skills and dedication to client satisfaction to drive success for the team and their clients.

Chloe Zhang
Procurement Executive

Chloe is a proficient Procurement Executive at Qualmac with six years of experience in global supply chain management. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce from Queensland, she expertly handles inventory management and tender submissions. Chloe ensures high standards in supplier selection, overseeing quality control, shipping logistics, and monitoring international freight rates to optimise delivery efficiency and cost savings.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Khristian excels at sourcing reliable partners and building long-term relationships, leveraging his extensive experience in Southeast Asian markets for cost savings and quality improvements. He regularly attends trade shows and events to enhance his industry knowledge and expand his network.

Han Kieu
Stock Flow & Accounts Officer

Han plays a key role in ensuring timely order processing and delivery across the supply chain. With a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Western Australia and a background in public practice, she brings a strong mix of operational and financial knowledge to the role. She works closely with warehouse teams to coordinate the dispatch of goods to customers, manages documentation, and assists with invoicing, reconciliations, and other finance-related tasks. Her attention to detail and cross-functional support help keep both stock movement and systems running smoothly.

China Sourcing opens
its Australia office.

Servicing blue-chip clients etc etc. China sourcing became a trusted name in Quality Control and on the ground Quality assurance procedure.

2012
China Sourcing opens
in Singapore.

China Sourcing opens its first office outside New Zealand and Australia with the Singapore office.

2017
China Sourcing opens
in China.

China Sourcing opens its first office outside New Zealand and Australia with the Qingdao,
China office.

2020
China Sourcing
becomes Qualmac.

As our supply network grew to include Vietnam, Thailand, and wider Asia, 'China Sourcing' transitioned to 'Qualmac' to reflect this evolution.

Present Day
Qualmac today.

Qualmac enjoys continued growth through  diversification, development and supply of over 165 private label products in Australia and New Zealand.
